Kyle Gibson keeps getting better

Remember how Kyle Gibson  averaged 20.5 points over the last eleven games of the season and I said he’s going to have a huge senior year…..

He kept up where he left off in March this summer playing in the Drew Summer League in Los Angeles. In fact Kyle was named the MVP of the Championship Game. What is the Drew Summer League you ask? Who did Kyle spend the summer playing against?

From the official website – the gym at Charles Drew Junior High School on the corner of Compton and Firestone  plays host to Southern California’s toughest competition, attracting street ball legends, collegiate athletes, and several NBA stars.

Here’s a list of the Players of the Week for this summer: (I added the league for the players in parenthesis)

Here’s Kyle’s Quote: “I think I took big steps this summer in order to become a more complete player,” Gibson said. “I was able to play multiple positions for my team, and I really think that will help our team this fall. The high level of competition that I saw this summer helped me see the game better, be more versatile, become a better defender and a better scorer. I believe this type of league helped prepare me for the team-oriented style we play at Louisiana Tech.”
